"Don't Visit My State Without My Knowledge".... Benue Governor

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has  warned that he cannot guarantee the safety of individuals or groups visiting the state without his knowledge, citing potential security concerns and ongoing high-profile meetings. To ensure safety, he advises against unscheduled visits and requires prior approval for visits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps through the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).

Governor Alia's warning is driven by security concerns in the state.

He said visitors to IDP camps must obtain written permission from BSEMA before visiting. The agency, which is led by Executive Secretary James Iorpuu, handles affairs of displaced persons and works towards restoring security in the state.

The governor said he has initiated distribution of relief materials to IDPs, highlighting his administration's efforts to support vulnerable populations .
