Director of sports in FCT, Dr. Dilichukwu Onyedinma has enjoined all schools in FCT and corporate bodies to be part of all schools swimming competition.
Dilichukwu stated this when Mrs Abimbola Nicholas-Eke M.D/CEO of Realworth Consult and Consultant to Aquatic Federation of Nigeria paid her a visit in her office in Abuja where she charged all schools with athletes who can swim to register for the program.
She went further by saying’ this is a good way of training our kids and if they find themselves in any difficult situation they can be able to swim their way out of it’
‘Swimming is one of the highest medal winning event at any competition and if you have good swimmers your chances of winning the competition is very high’
She also thanked Realworth Consult and Aquatic Federation of Nigeria for this initiative while she pleads with parents to allow their children to be part of this program because it is a win – win situation.
Meanwhile,Mrs Abimbola Nicholas-Eke thanked her for support and promises to contribute her own quota in discovering hidden talents in swimming because Nigeria is blessed with so much talents.
The all schools swimming competition will kick off in June where kids with little or no talent will trained and taught the basic rudiments of the game that might bring out the ‘Michael Phelps’ (World Swimming Champion at the Olympics) in them
