Director Of Sports , Abia State Sports Council, Assures Of Improved Outing At The National Youth Games.

Abia state director of Sports, comrade Obioma George, has assured that Abia state contingents at the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta state, will improve on their result of 2023.
Comrade Obioma George, speaking in an exclusive interview with www.exclusiveness.ng said the state athletes are focused on returning with sucess stories.
“We are very determined to record sucess during the games in Asaba. We have prepared very well, and have also tried to correct our mistakes from the last edition of the tournament. We alo have been supported effectively by the state government through the ministry of sports & youth development, as all the Athletes and their coaches are here in Asaba rearing to compete effectively.
Comrade Obioma George also appreciated the commissioner for sports, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, and Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), for their support towards sports development in the state which has given the state a global recognition recently through a victorious outing in Paris France, where 2 athletes of from Abia state, Onyinyechi Mark and Esther Nworgu won gold and silver medals in powerlifting respectively at the Paralympic Games, with Onyinyechi Mark setting a new world record of 150kg in powerlifting.
259 athletes and officials from Abia State, have arrived Asaba delta state, and will participate in 28 out of 36 approved sports for this year's 8th edition of the under 15 national youth games that has already kicked off and will last till the 19th of September, 2024.
