Team FCT's hope of finishing among top five at the just concluded National Youth Games in Asaba,Delta state was dashed despite harvest of medals on the final day .

The team haul of 11gold,10 silver and 16bronze  in badminton and Athletics on the closing day was not enough to dislodge Kwara state and Ogun state on the final medal table.

It was an intense battle right from the kick off of the competition as the battle for fifth place oscillated between  Team Kwara,Ogun and FCT from day one of the competition knowing that it might be difficult to stop Delta ,Lagos, Edo and  Bayelsa,however, the jostle for fifth place goes beyond that,because,it will also  determine who gets the bragging right in North Central and the entire northern region.

However,that expectation was dashed as Team Kwara edged Team FCT on the final day with 13gold,14 silver and 9 bronze medal while Ogun finished sixth with 11gold,12 silver and 9 bronze.
