Celebrity businessman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has admitted that failing to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a political mistake, as he announced a new direction focused on cooperation with the federal government.

 

Speaking at a political gathering in Imo State, the nightlife entrepreneur said the meeting marked an important turning point after weeks of consultations and planning. He described the event as a show of unity and renewed support for the current administration.

 

According to him, years of political resistance had not produced the desired results, prompting a change in approach.

 

“We have decided to partner with the government at the center. We are not ready to fight. We tried fighting and it didn’t work for us,” he said.

 

Cubana Chief Priest also praised the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for maintaining a strong working relationship with the federal government, noting that such collaboration has helped attract development to the state.

 

He further commended Seyi Tinubu, describing him as a unifying figure who has strengthened relationships across regional and ethnic lines.

 

Reflecting on the last election cycle, the businessman acknowledged that he had previously opposed President Tinubu but now considers that stance a political misjudgment.

 

“Politics is a game… we don’t want to lose again and we will never waste our votes again,” he stated.

 

He also claimed that the growing support base backing the president could evolve into one of the largest political movements in Nigeria, promising stronger mobilisation ahead of future elections.

 

Cubana Chief Priest concluded by offering prayers for Tinubu’s success in office and urged Nigerians to embrace unity, partnership, and collaboration as the country moves forward.
