Former Nigeria U17 women’s team goalkeeper invitee Comfort Erhabor, who currently plays for Portsmouth Women in the English Women’s Championship, has revealed that Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is her biggest inspiration in football.

 

Speaking recently about her Black sports hero, Comfort shared how Nnadozie’s rise to prominence has deeply influenced her outlook on hard work, perseverance, and representation in the sport.

 

The young goalkeeper, who was born in the Netherlands and grew up in a small village, said she did not experience much diversity in her early years. However, seeing Nnadozie excel on the global stage has shown her that one’s background does not define their potential.

 

“In recent years, I’ve been inspired by Chiamaka Nnadozie, who has shown me that regardless of one’s background or upbringing, hard work always pays off,” Comfort said.

 

Outside football, Comfort credits her mother as her greatest personal hero, describing her as a source of strength and faith.

 

“She’s taught me that being a Black woman of faith means walking proudly and knowing the impact I can make,” she added.

 

Interestingly, Comfort recently departed Brighton Women during the last transfer window — the same club that Nnadozie has now joined.

 

Observers believe Comfort Erhabor possesses the qualities and potential to represent Nigeria at senior level in the near future. With her steady rise in English football, many see a Super Falcons call-up as only a matter of time.
