Football coaches in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have lauded the Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for his bold and strategic efforts in revitalizing sports infrastructure across the territory.

Rising from their monthly meeting held on Saturday, September 6, the coaches paid a visit to the Area Three Sports Centre, where massive renovation and construction works are currently underway. The group expressed satisfaction with the progress and praised the minister’s commitment to sports development.

Chairman of the FCT Football Coaches Association, Coach Bartholomew David, who spoke at the project site, described the ongoing transformation as a “deliberate and commendable step” toward the realization of modern sports facilities in the FCT.

“The Minister’s gesture is clearly intentional and geared toward promoting the growth of sports in the territory. We are impressed and grateful,” Coach David stated.

Also present at the site was Godwin Bamigboye, former Chairman of FCT Football, who echoed the sentiments of appreciation. He not only applauded Minister Wike’s efforts but also emphasized the potential economic benefits that improved sports infrastructure could bring to the FCT.

“Beyond sports, these facilities have the potential to boost local economies, create jobs, and engage the youth positively,” Bamigboye noted.

The visit highlights growing support from grassroots football stakeholders for the FCT administration’s sports policies and infrastructure upgrades, which many hope will contribute to the overall development of Nigerian sports.
