Heartland FC Technical Adviser, Christian Obi and club General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu have asked for the forgiveness of football stakeholders in Imo State.

Obi the club head coach said he has sued for peace among football stakeholders for all to work towards the progress of Heartland FC and put up concerted efforts to safe the club from its precarious situation.

The former Flying Eagles goalkeeper said during a peace parley with management, technical crew and other stakeholders ahead of the game with Plateau United in Awka that nothing works where people are working in discordant tone.

He charged all to put all their differences aside and let peace reign in Heartland FC adding that he has forgiven everyone he felt had betrayed him in the past and that he expects those that felt he offended them too to sheath their sword for the interest of Heartland FC and Imo State.

"I have called this peace meeting to ask for the forgiveness of all that I have offended whether knowingly or otherwise. We must all work for the progress of the club because the club is bigger than any of us. I expect all those I have offended too to forgive me," Obi said at the peace parley.

"I have put a call across to all those that were unable to come for the parley to forget about the things of the past and let's forge ahead. We want our supporters Club to come for our game with Plateau United and come and support us. The management members that are not with us in Awka are also called upon to attend the game.

"We must work a united front to help Heartland FC succeed. Our march towards surviving relegation starts now and we must stick together to achieve that goal."

All the management members, technical crew and other officials at the peace parley all took turns to speak and they all agreed to forgive and forget issues they have had in the past to ensure the club gets out of the relegation zone.

The General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu hailed the decision of the head coach, Christian Obi to call for the peace parley and he also implored everyone in the club to work towards peace and give it a chance.

Nwachukwu also said he has forgiven all those that maligned his name in the interest of peace and he called on the supporters and fans of the club to come cheer Heartland FC to victory on Wednesday in Awka.
