Chosen Generation Angels and Heroes Queens have successfully avoided relegation from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship, ensuring their participation in the 2025 season. The two teams emerged victorious in the second-tier relegation playoffs, held at the St. Patrick College Field in Calabar.

Chosen Generation Angels secured their spot with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Kaduna Queens. Kafayat Anifowoshe's 35th-minute goal proved decisive, as the Ogun State-based team held off a determined Kaduna Queens side in the second half. The loss condemned Kaduna Queens to relegation to the third tier of Nigerian women's football.

In a thrilling Lagos derby, Heroes Queens edged out DreamStar FC Ladies 1-0, courtesy of Ebube Umejiaku's 55th-minute strike. The result marked the end of DreamStar FC Ladies' three-year stint in the second tier, following their relegation from the top flight in 2021. The team will now compete in the third tier.

The victories mean Chosen Generation Angels and Heroes Queens will continue to compete in the NWFL Championship for the 2025 season, while Kaduna Queens and DreamStar FC Ladies will prepare for their campaigns in the third tier.
