Veteran Nigerian actress Chioma Chukwuka was overcome with emotion after winning the prestigious Best Lead Actress award at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) for her compelling performance in "Seven Doors."

The award, one of the night's most competitive categories, saw Chukwuka triumph over several acclaimed actresses including Gbubemi Ejeye ("Farmer's Bride"), Uzoamaka Onuoha ("Agemo"), Uche Montana ("Thin Line"), Uzoamaka Aniunoh ("Phoenix Fury"), Hilda Dokubo ("Wives on Strike 3"), and Bimbo Ademoye ("Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre").

Unable to attend the ceremony in person, Chukwuka later shared her raw emotional response on Instagram—a tearful video capturing her overwhelming joy and gratitude. "Thank you, Jesus!!! Words really fail me! AMVCA Best Actress 2025," she wrote in the caption.

Femi Adebayo, who produced and co-directed "Seven Doors," accepted the award on her behalf during the star-studded event.

The critically acclaimed "Seven Doors" emerged as one of the night's biggest winners, securing a total of three awards. In addition to Chukwuka's Best Actress win, Adebayo himself claimed the Best Lead Actor award, while Tolu Obanro was recognized for Best Score/Music.

The film, directed by the trio of Adebayo, Adebayo Tijani, and Tope Adebayo, tells the poignant story of King Adedunjoye, who must marry six additional wives to break a generational curse, despite his deep love for his wife Amaka.

The 11th AMVCA ceremony continues to solidify its reputation as one of Africa's most prestigious film and television award events, celebrating excellence across the continent's rapidly growing entertainment industry.
