Chikere Assumes Office as Executive Director, Edo Sports Commission
Mrs. Sabina Chikere has made a historic return to the Edo State Sports Commission, resuming her role as Executive Director on Monday, January 6, 2025. Her appointment, made by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo on December 18, 2024, tasks her with overseeing Operations and Sports Development in the state.
As the former Permanent Secretary of the commission, Chikere brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Her new role makes her second-in-command to Executive Chairman Honourable Desmond Enabulele, who warmly welcomed her back to the commission.
Chikere's impressive track record, earned her the nickname "The Working One" during her tenure as General Coordinator and Permanent Secretary of Sports under former Governor Godwin Obaseki. With her expertise and experience, she is expected to play a pivotal role in revitalizing sports in the state.
The commission's board members, including Hon. Frank Ilaboya, Baldwin Bazuaye, and Odianose Anthony Ikuenobe, Esq., are expected to provide their full support to Chikere and Enabulele. With this strong team in place, the Edo State Sports Commission is poised for a bright and successful future.
