FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has been commended on the energy and speed he has invested so far in the development of infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory since his assumption of office.

This commendation was made by a renowned sports administrator in FCT, Godwin Bamigboye. He is excited that the christening of Chief Wike as "Mr Projects" is indeed not misplaced. "He has indeed invested so much energy and speed into the development of infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory in less than one year of his assumption of office. This is indeed commendable". He added that with the achievement so far recorded within a short space of time, the FCT will realize unimaginable development in the very near future.

The sports administrator who was also a former Chairman of the FCT Football Coaches Association reminded the Minister of FCT to also prioritize the provision of sports facilities in the six Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory. He added that he is aware that Chief Wike is already giving attention to the completion of the abandoned stadiums in the six Area Councils. He urged the Minister to facilitate resumption of work for the completion of the projects. He pleaded for the provision of more recreational facilities especially within the city.

He also expressed concern on the conversion of sports facilities in some schools for other purposes and advised the Minister to prevent its further occurrence.

Bamigboye also pleaded that the FCT Minister should give special attention to the Area Three and Area Ten (Old Parade Ground) sports centres and upgrade them to modern status.

He also advised the Minister to be deliberate in the preparation of what will be described as a huge legacy in sports.
