Coal City FC ace, Chidiebere John, says they won't fret as their 'Enugu Derby' against Rangers beckons on Tuesday (today, 27 August, 2024) in one of the top picks of the ongoing Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Pre-Season Tournament here at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Coal City FC is a second tier domestic league side while Rangers are current Nigeria elite league, NPFL title holders.

Despite the obvious striking gap between the sides, Chidiebere reckons that they fear no foes, a bold statement that they can stand ground against any opposition.

The lanky forward told TICO/SELECT Media that they are set to do their best despite their position on the group table.

“It will not be easy but we are prepared. They are our 'big brothers' but this is football and we will give it our best”, Chidiebere posited confidently.

Coal City FC will have their hands full when they file out against the 8th Nigeria champions at 4pmTuesday 27th August, 2024 in an 'Enugu City Derby' at the Abakiliki Township Stadium.

Before the evening bid showdown, Excellent FC of Ugheli, Delta State will attempt to join Enyimba FC in the semis when they take on home side and the youngest team in the tournament, Mathias FA of Ebonyi State in the first match of the day at 9am.

Mathias FC is the weeping 'baby' of the group, having lost their first two matches.

Kun Khalifat will take on Abia Warriors at 12.noon in their last group match after sharing spoils in their second and third matches with the Enugu brothers, Rangers FC and Coal City FC.

The newly promoted NNL side lost to Apex Crane in their opening game.
