Chiamaka Okwuchukwu Scores Lightning-Fast Goal on Historic NWSL Debut

 

Nigerian forward Chiamaka Okwuchukwu made an unforgettable first impression in the NWSL, scoring just 1 minute and 48 seconds after coming on as a substitute for San Diego Wave against Orlando Pride.

 

Her goal ranks as the second-fastest by a debutant in NWSL regular-season history, trailing only Ebony Salmon’s 55-second record from 2021.

 

The 21-year-old, who joined San Diego Wave from Rivers Angels after starring in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, has quickly showcased her attacking prowess. With her sharp movement and finishing ability, Okwuchukwu looks set to play a key role as the Wave push for success this season.
