What started as a competitive fixture between FWC Champions FC and City FC on 22nd June 2025 at the NLO Playoff Kaduna Centre ended in chaos, as FWC Champions FC players staged a sit-down protest over yet another round of poor officiating — a pattern that has plagued the tournament since Day One.

The match was riddled with controversial decisions: questionable calls, clear fouls ignored, and a general lack of consistency from the referees. Frustrated and fed up, FWC Champions FC players halted play and sat on the pitch in protest, making a bold statement against the injustice in front of fans and League Officials.

This wasn’t an isolated incident — teams have consistently faced biased and inconsistent officiating throughout the competition. Match Day 2 witnessed an over 5 minutes halt by protesting Campro FC players in the game between City Fc vs Campro Fc over questionable penalties awarded to City Fc, the third in the game.

Not also to mention agitations of team coaches against officiating of the tournament.

The protest is now a loud call for the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to investigate what transpired at the ABS Kaduna center the past four Days which resulted to various protests of the League denting the image of our nation's football, and also to take action and restore fairness to the beautiful game.
