Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), has emphasized the significance of integrity in Nigerian sports. Speaking at the Integrity Symposium organized by the Integrity Group, Dikko stressed that having individuals with high integrity in the sports ecosystem is crucial for the country's sports development.

To boost integrity in Nigerian sports, the NSC plans to establish an Independent Compliance Desk. This desk will help ensure integrity in various sports during federation elections. Dikko believes that integrity checks are essential, citing FIFA's significant investment in performing such checks.

The NSC Chairman also urged the sporting media to report responsibly, avoiding negative coverage that can harm the sports sector. He assured the symposium organizers of the commission's support in expanding the event to include presidents of sporting federations and other stakeholders.

Dikko's commitment to integrity in sports is reflected in his own career, having passed various integrity tests locally and internationally, including those conducted by CAF and FIFA.
