In the rich and storied history of African women’s football, no team has achieved the dominance and consistency of Nigeria’s Super Falcons. Now, a remarkable chapter from their past is being revisited and celebrated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), as the body pays tribute to the Nigerian women’s national team for the most goals ever scored in a single edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

 

The Super Falcons netted an incredible 28 goals during the 1998 tournament — a record that still stands today.
