The CAF Disciplinary Board convened on December 19, 2024, to deliberate on various incidents reported during the TotalEnergies CAF Interclub Competitions and the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Qualifiers. 

• CR Belouizdad (Algeria)

CR Belouizdad was fined USD 10,000 for the use of smoke bombs by fans during their match against Orlando Pirates (South Africa) on November 26, 2024. USD 5,000 of the fine is suspended for 12 months, contingent on no recurrence.

• AS FAR (Morocco)

AS FAR received a USD 5,000 fine for smoke bomb usage by fans during their match against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on December 7, 2024. Additionally, the club was fined USD 10,000 for the use of lasers by its supporters.

• Equatorial Guinea

The team was fined USD 25,000 for failing to provide adequate security during their match against Togo on November 14, 2024. The sanction is suspended, but a further USD 5,000 fine was imposed for a pitch invasion by fans.

• Libya

The Libyan Football Federation was fined USD 50,000 and ordered to play their next two official matches behind closed doors due to violations of articles 82 and 151 of the CAF Disciplinary Code during their match against Benin on November 18, 2024.

• Benin

The Beninese Football Federation was fined USD 5,000 for failing to collaborate with CAF Disciplinary procedures (Article 45) during their match against Rwanda. An additional USD 50,000 fine (USD 25,000 suspended) was imposed for the misconduct of officials after the match.

• CS Sfaxien (Tunisia)

CS Sfaxien was fined USD 20,000 for the use of pyrotechnic devices by supporters during their match against CS Constantine (Algeria) on November 27, 2024. USD 10,000 of the fine is suspended for 12 months.

• USM Alger (Algeria)

USM Alger was fined USD 10,000 for smoke bomb usage during their match against Orapa United (Botswana) on November 27, 2024. USD 5,000 of the fine is suspended for 12 months.

 

Other Decisions

 

• Guinean Complaint Against Tanzania

CAF upheld the Guinean Football Federation’s complaint regarding the November 19, 2024, match against Tanzania (Match No. 143 of the qualifiers). The details of the ruling will follow.
