Brighton & Hove Albion Women have completed the signing of Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, the club confirmed via the BBC. The 24-year-old joins on a free transfer from Paris FC, with the move set to be official on July 1, following the expiration of her contract with the French side.

 

Widely regarded as one of Africa’s premier goalkeepers, Nnadozie has earned 55 senior caps for Nigeria since debuting in 2018. She first made headlines at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, before securing the No.1 spot for the Super Falcons.

 

Her global reputation grew with standout performances at the 2019 and 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cups, particularly during the 2023 tournament where she saved a crucial penalty in a goalless draw against Olympic champions Canada.

 

During her four-year stint with Paris FC, Nnadozie became a cornerstone of the team’s success, featuring in 16 UEFA Women’s Champions League matches between 2022 and 2025.

 

Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic welcomed the high-profile addition, stating:

 

“She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line. We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season.”

 

Nnadozie is expected to challenge for the starting role at Brighton as the club aims for a stronger showing in the upcoming Barclays Women’s Super League campaign.
