English Women’s Super League side, Brighton & Hove Albion, have officially unveiled Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie as the newest addition to their squad.

 

The 24-year-old joined the Seagulls on a free transfer in July following the expiration of her contract with French Division 1 Féminine side, Paris FC.

 

Her arrival at Brighton was delayed due to her involvement with the Nigerian national team at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where she played a key role in helping the Super Falcons clinch a record-extending 10th continental title.

 

Nnadozie’s stellar performances earned her the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, further cementing her status as one of Africa’s top shot stoppers.

 

She received a hero’s welcome at Brighton’s training ground, greeted by her new teammates and club staff with Nigerian flags, warm applause, and a standing ovation on her first day.

 

Nnadozie is expected to assume the role of first-choice goalkeeper under head coach Dario Vidosic as Brighton prepares for the 2025/26 Women’s Super League season.

 

Brighton, who finished fifth in the 2024/25 campaign, will begin the new season with a home fixture against Aston Villa at the Broadfield Stadium on Sunday, September 7.

 

Nnadozie’s signing is seen as a major boost for the Seagulls as they aim to push further up the table in the upcoming season.
