Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper, Comfort Erhabor has signified interest to represent Nigeria despite being eligible to play for the Netherlands.

Erhabor was born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents signed her first professional contract with the English Women’s Super League (WSL) side in January.

She spent the season on loan with Scottish Women’s top flight side, Hibernian.

Graduating from Brighton’s Centre of Excellence, the same Academy that developed the likes of 18-year-old Nina Wilson, Erhabor established herself within Hibs dressing room last season.

The Nigeria U-17 girls invitee won the Nike Premier Cup final in 2023

The young shot-stopper was previously invited to Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team camp for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

She remained committed to secure her first ever senior women’s national team call-up with the Super Falcons ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics next month.

In a recent interview, Erhabor was unequivocal about her intentions to represent Nigeria even at the U20 level for the benefit of the experience that comes at that level.

The U-20 national team have qualified for the World Cup and Erhabor is also eligible to play for the Falconets this year.

Erhabor revealed she has had discussions with Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum, acknowledging the complexities of dealing with the Nigerian football system.

Given the competition in the goalkeeping department, Erhabor intends to learn from the best goalkeeper in Africa and Paris FC save hands, Chiamaka Nnadozie to help her improve her skills

The Super Falcons are set to begin their Olympic campaign against Brazil on 25 July at the Stade de Bordeaux before facing Japan and Spain in the group stage. (Nigeriafootball.ng)
