Bisola Aiyeola Opens Up on Fear, Shame, and Strength as a Single Mother
“I was scared and ashamed of being pregnant and having a baby out of wedlock,” Nigerian actress and reality star Bisola Aiyeola has revealed, opening up about one of the most vulnerable periods of her life.
In an interview with Tope Olowoniyan, the movie star shared the emotional and psychological struggles she faced upon discovering she was pregnant outside of marriage.
Bisola explained that at the time, she had been engaged and believed marriage would naturally follow. However, circumstances changed, and she was left to confront the reality of raising a child on her own. The situation felt even more overwhelming due to her family’s financial challenges.
She described the period after childbirth as particularly difficult, revealing that she initially struggled to breastfeed her daughter because she had not yet come to terms with her new reality.
Over time, however, Bisola said she began to heal emotionally. Acceptance gradually replaced fear and shame, allowing her to build a deeper and stronger bond with her daughter.
Her story highlights a journey of resilience, growth, and ultimately, self-acceptance in the face of societal pressure and personal challenges.
