BFN President Francis Obih Commends The Organizers Of ABCIN Championship
President of Badminton Federation of Nigeria BFN Barrister Francis Obih has commended the organizers of the just concluded badminton championship organized by the Association of Badminton Clubs in Nigeria ABCIN.
BFN president, Obih, stated this in his remark during the closing ceremony of the ABCIN Championship and Festival that took place at the Gymnasium Hall of Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
According to Barrister Obih, who applauded the organizers for staging a befitting championship, the annual championship will go a long way in promoting the development of the game of Badminton in Nigeria.
“The ABCIN Championship is getting bigger especially now that they are engaging the age-grade and the senior players. What they are doing is complimentary to what the federation is doing”.
“The level of participation is excellent. Virtually all the active players are on ground and as a federation we will continue to support them so that some levels of standard are met but I can tell you the effort is quite commendable”.
Barrister Francis Obih further stated that he will continue to work with private individuals and corporate organizations so as to take badminton to its greater height in Nigeria.
“We have been calling on private investors to invest in the development of Badminton in Nigeria because government and the federation cannot do it alone.
“All we need to do is to continue to improve the standard. The private sector has a vital role to play and I have been saying it that the synergy between government and private partnership has to be there”.
City-gate Badminton Club, who is the hosts for the 4-day event, alongside other 108 Badminton Clubs in Nigeria took part in the championship.
