Benjamin Tanimu, Sporting Club Ihefu of Tanzania center-back, says he would be 'devastated' and 'disappointed' should the Super Eagles fail to snatch the maximum points against South Africa's Bafana Bafana In Friday night's FIFA World Cup USA/Mexico/Canada 2026 qualifiers inside the magnificent Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Tanimu is making a return to the senior National Team set after his debut during the Nigeria versus Ghana International friendly match in Morocco.

The 21-year-olf former Bendel Insurance of Benin platoon commander spoke during Wednesday's Super Eagles players parley with the media in Uyo.

"We know what's on ground. We equally know what Nigerians want and expect from us. Not winning this game (against South Africa) will be a very 'big 'disappointment' to me as an individual, then come to talk of us as a team", a pleasantly elated Tanimu said.

"We just don't want talk too much. We just have to wait until after the game on Friday. Nigerians will be happy after the game.

He stated that Super Eagles playing at home infront of their home fans is not a guarantee for an easy ride to victory.

"Experience has shown that every home game is always difficult because you will always want to play well; you want the fans to be happy and at the same time you have your eyes and mind set on winning the game.

"Sometimes it comes with it's own pressure but personally, I see it as a motivation because we have the Nigerians supporting us.

"But one thing is certain, and that is the fact that I know that we're coming out with the three points here in Nigeria on Friday".

Tanimu would go on to reveal his excitement following his recall to the Super Eagles squad.

"I'm really very, very excited to get this call up and it's been a dream come true for me to get the opportunity to represent my country. So I'm excited that I'm back here again because the coach and the management know that I can add value to the team. And I'm here to give my all".

He would go on to draw a line between the NPFL and the Tanzanian top flight, disclosing strangely that the Tanzanian league is more organised and more supported than the NPFL.

"Like I said, Tanzania is more organised than Nigeria in terms of football and I would like to advice Nigerian football freaks to always come out en masse during NPFL games in Tanzania, people always come out massively to support their various teams".
