Ayisat Yusuf FA Crowned Champions of Inaugural RAAF Lagos Female Unity Cup

Ayisat Yusuf Football Academy has emerged victorious in the maiden edition of the RAAF Lagos Female Unity Cup, a thrilling preseason showcase for female teams across Lagos.
Founded by former Super Falcons star Ayisat Yusuf Aromire, the academy clinched the title after a tense final against CATS Ladies. With the match ending in a deadlock, it all came down to penalties — and goalkeeper Basirat Lawal rose to the occasion, making a crucial save to deny CATS their final spot-kick and seal the win for her team.
Omolara Odebode of Ayisat Yusuf FA was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, a recognition of her outstanding performances throughout the competition.
In the third-place match, Unification Talent dominated Phoenix FC with a commanding 3-0 victory to secure the bronze.
The RAAF Lagos Female Unity Cup was proudly supported by a strong lineup of partners including Addosser Microfinance Bank, Ivory Health Club, 36 Lion Investment, DigiKolo, Centre Grace Assembly, the Lagos State Sports Commission, and the Lagos State Football Association.
A historic beginning — and a powerful reminder of the bright future of women’s football in Nigeria.
