Atiku Abubakar Uncertain About 2027 Presidential Ambition

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has revealed that he is uncertain about running for the presidency in 2027. This announcement comes after Atiku declared the formation of a coalition to challenge President Bola Tinubu's government.
When asked about his potential candidacy, Atiku stated, "I don't know because there has to be, first of all, a viable platform, more than any other time in the political history of this country, particularly since the return of democracy." He emphasized the need for Nigeria to have a competent leader, highlighting the country's dire need for experienced and credible leadership.
Atiku, who has contested for the presidency six times, did not rule out the possibility of running in 2027. He drew parallels with the 2014 merger, where he and three other candidates ran for president, and one emerged victorious with their support.
Speculations suggest that Atiku may support former Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi or former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai in the 2027 election. However, Atiku's current stance remains uncertain, leaving his supporters and opponents alike wondering about his next move.
