Anambra State is on the fastest lane of becoming the first state East of the Niger to organise and run a well structured Beach Soccer League, the body responsible for Beach soccer in the state, Anambra State Beach Soccer Association, ASBSA, has revealed.

Although ASBSA did not disclose a specific time frame for the commencement of the inaugural Beach Soccer League  in the state, ASBSA however hinted that the pivotal league will get underway 'in no distant time', underline how soon the league will kick off.
 
Emmanuel Nsoedo, Secretary of ASBSA, at a colourful but brief media parley in Nnewi on Thursday, unveiled the association's resolve and readiness to put Anambra on top map of states with Beach soccer league which will produce players that would wear the State's colours in both national and international Beach soccer competitions.
 
The ASBSA Scribe equally unveiled Anambra Beach Soccer Team known as Anambra Warriors and pleaded with the government of Anambra state as well as corporate organisations and the private sector to 'show interest and invest in the game of Beach soccer'.
 
Nsoedo disclosed that 'Anambra Warriors' are ready for the first round of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League billed for Kebbi State, April 10 through April 13 
 
"Beach Soccer is becoming popular in Anambra. The state has  a standard Beach Soccer Pitch at Nnewi High School which is capable of hosting any Beach soccer event or team from anywhere in the world", Nsoedo harped, restating ASBSA's readiness to participate in the April 10-13 National Beach Soccer League in Kebbi with a bold ambition of doing the state proud at the event.
 
“We are going to Kebbi State for the league to win", Nsoedo enthused confidently.
 
“We will use sports to address the vices in the society by making the youth positively engaged and thereby reducing idle time that often lead to vices",  the ASBSA Scribe declared.
 
He went further to reveal that Anambra has been given the right to host the second National Beach Soccer competition in May this year.
 
"The existence of Beach Soccer in Anambra is whole and entirely 'private sector driven', and government support to the sport can, in no small way grow the game and make players in the state enjoy the opportunities".
 
“We plan to float the Anambra beach soccer league soon because we need competition to bring the best out of our boys.
 
“As part of ASBSA developmental programmes, we are going to take Beach Soccer to primary and secondary schools though we are not getting a fair share of government funding for now", Nsoedo lamented..
