Anambra,FA Chairman Receives Lagos Island All Stars On Courtesy Visit
The Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) on Friday warmly received members of the Island All Stars, Lagos, who paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Association, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, during their August visit to Anambra State.
The delegation, comprising distinguished veteran footballers, was in the State on their way to Akweze, Anambra State, to commiserate with one of their members over the demise of a loved one. As a mark of respect and solidarity, the team deemed it appropriate to first visit the Chairman of ANSFA, who is also a proud member of Island All Stars Lagos.
Receiving the entourage at the FA Secretariat, Chief Iloenyosi, on behalf of the Anambra State Football Association, expressed deep appreciation for the visit and commended the unity and strong bond that exist among retired footballers across the country. He emphasized the importance of sustaining camaraderie within the football family, particularly during moments of grief and solidarity.
The Chairman described the visit as a reflection of the enduring spirit of brotherhood that football fosters beyond active playing years. He further reiterated ANSFA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote welfare, unity, and continuous engagement of ex-footballers in the development of the game.
As a gesture of goodwill and support, the Anambra State FA Chairman made some donations and support to the visiting team to assist them in their condolence mission, while assuring them of the Association’s continuous partnership.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the warm reception and generous support accorded them, noting that Chief Iloenyosi’s leadership continues to strengthen the bridge between active football administration and veteran players.
