Anambra House Of Assembly Promises To Partner SWAN For Better, Effective Coverage Of Sporting Activities In The State

HON. Somtochukwu Udeze, Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly has revealed that the state lawmakers are 'willinging and prepared' to partner sports journalists in the state for a robust and positive reportage of sporting activities in the state, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
Honourable Udeze spoke during a courtesy visit by the newly elected Executive of the Anambra State Chaptee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, led by its Chairman, Chimezie Ana's,.
The lawmakers, Hon Udeze said, will not hesitate to legislate laws that would aid the sports writers to carry out their duty of informing and educating members of the public on sporting activities in the state.
The Speaker congratulated the newly elected SWAN Executive on their victory and charged them to come up with programmes that will impact on both her members and the public.
"It has become pertinent for those in leadership positions to do things differently in other to achieve the desired results rather than doing things the old way which may not yield the needed result", the Speaker noted.
He further said that it was in the same vein that the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo is coming up with programmes and policies that would impact on the people including the reconstruction of several failed roads and the commencement of new ones across communities in the state.
Earlier in his speech, the newly elected Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN , Anambra Chapter, Mr Chimezie Anaso, noted that the Legislature is strategic arm of Government is crucial to the success Anambra government under Professor Chukwuma Soludo is scoring in the sports sector..
He appreciated the legislative arm for the support provided by the 8th Assembly through approvals and oversight functions, noting that the lglory days of Anambra in sports have returned.
The Speaker was also briefed about the activities of the organization including SWAN WEEK coming up in December.
