Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, popularly known as D’General, has reiterated the association’s unwavering commitment to advancing football development across the state.

Speaking on the mandate of the state FA, Iloenyosi emphasized that football in Anambra is more than a sport—it is a unifying force, a culture, and a movement that must be nurtured.

“Our role is to ensure that football thrives in our dear Anambra State through our programmes and activities. This is our mandate, as football is not just the king of sports, it is a movement and a culture,” he stated.

Iloenyosi also took a firm stance against individuals he described as detractors attempting to disrupt the progress achieved by the administration. He dismissed their criticisms as distractions that hold no weight.

“We are unperturbed by the rants of toothless bulldogs and charlatans that constitute an anathema and a cog in the wheel of football progress and development,” he said.

Under his leadership, the Anambra FA continues to roll out initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots participation, improving talent development pathways, and enhancing the standards of football administration in the state.
