Nigeria international Anam Imo was on the scoresheet for FC Rosengard, but her goal was not enough to prevent the Swedish champions from exiting the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League following a 3-2 loss to Belgium’s OH Leuven on Saturday.

 

Rosengard were left chasing the game after a disastrous first half in which Leuven struck three times without reply. Aurelie Reynders opened the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by a quickfire double from Jada Conijnenberg in the 18th and 35th minutes, putting the Belgians firmly in control.

 

Rosengard responded with determination after the break. Emilia Larsson reignited hope with a goal in the 60th minute, before Imo added a second 12 minutes later, finishing clinically to make it 3-2.

 

Despite their spirited fightback, the Swedes couldn’t find the equaliser. Imo, who had been one of the side’s brightest attacking threats throughout the match, was substituted in the 81st minute for Filippa Skostrom.

 

Fellow Nigerian and 2024 WAFCON winner Halimatu Ayinde featured for the full 90 minutes in midfield but received a yellow card during stoppage time.

 

Imo has now scored in back-to-back Champions League fixtures, highlighting her value on the continental stage. However, the defeat means Rosengard’s European campaign ends in Round Two.

 

The Swedish champions will now shift focus to the Champions League placement match and their domestic league ambitions in the Damallsvenskan, as they aim to secure a return to Europe next season.
