Emmanuel Amuneke, MFR, Technical Manager of Heartland FC, has confirmed that the Naze Millionaires will take part in the 2025 edition of the annual Ifeanyi Ekwueme/Tico Select pre season tournament, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The 7th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament has been slated to hold on August 2 through 9, 2025, with Enugu and Aba being considered as possible dual host cities.

The annual Preseason Tournament is organised by former Super Eagles midfielder, Ifeanyi Ekwueme who represents Tico and Select Sports Wear outfits in the country.

Amuneke praised Ekwueme’s dedication to Nigerian football, highlighting the tournament’s growth and legacy.

Amuneke, a former Zamalek of Egypt and FC Barcelona of Spain winger during his playing days said Heartland FC is prepared to participate in the tournament which is set to feature yet-to-be disclosed top-tier Nigerian clubs.

Amuneke, who won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile for Nigeria, expressed appreciation for Ekwueme’s efforts in promoting Nigerian football, stating that the tournament has brought the sport closer to the people.

“Ifeanyi’s commitment to Nigerian football is truly inspiring,”Amuneke said.

“We’re geared up and ready to give it our all, and we appreciate Ifeanyi’s efforts in bringing Nigerian football closer to the people", Amuneke stressed.
