The 2025 AMAC Football Coaches 1-Day Strategic Coaching Workshop concluded in grand style at the Area 3 Sports Center, Abuja, drawing over 40 passionate football coaches from across the FCT. The workshop, known for its intensive and practical approach to modern football coaching, featured a robust lineup of sessions and resource persons, aimed at enhancing the technical and tactical abilities of participants.

This year’s seminar covered five key areas critical to the growth and effectiveness of grassroots and professional coaches:

1. Team Development

2. Training Coordination

3. Performance Analysis

4. Players’ Psychology

5. Referee Evaluation (Theory & Practical)

 

Throughout the day, the coaches were put through practical drills and theory sessions that left many feeling inspired and better equipped to develop talent and manage teams more effectively. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, as many attendees expressed their appreciation for the quality of the knowledge shared.

 

Council Leader Kenny Owojori commended all the participants for their dedication to improving their craft. He also expressed gratitude to the top-tier resource persons who delivered the sessions, notably:

• Dr. Robinson Okosun, former Head of Psychology Unit, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)

• Bala Nikyu, NFF/CAF Instructor

• Haruna Ilerika, Former U-16 National Head Coach and Secretary of FCT Football Association

• Godwin Bamigboye, Former Chairman, Nigeria Football Coaches Association (FCT Chapter)

 

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to all participants, handled by Mansur Abdullahi, Assistant General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association and First Vice Chairman, NFCA FCT Chapter.

This workshop marks another milestone in the continuous efforts to raise the standard of coaching and football development in Abuja and beyond.
