Popular Nollywood stars Tobi Bakre and put the name of the country's on the world map as he received the best actor in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA.

The Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, Lagos was the venue for the awards ceremony on Sunday 29th October 2023, and it was skillfully hosted by Nancy Isime, Rahama Sadau, and Richard Ato Turkson.
The best of African cinema was celebrated at the awards ceremony, which brought together filmmakers from all over the world.
