Dr. Christopher Otabor, the Principal Medical Director of Alliance Hospital, heralded a momentous breakthrough in the hospital's In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) program with the arrival of its inaugural trio of babies. This landmark achievement was realized slightly over a year following the grand opening of the state-of-the-art IVF center by the Esteemed President Ahmed Isah of Berekete family.
"We are delighted to announce a success rate of 70% in our IVF procedures, a notable accomplishment given that international success rates typically range from 35% to 40%,"Dr. Otabor proclaimed. He recounted the story of a woman from Canada who successfully conceived after several unsuccessful IVF attempts in her homeland. At present, the IVF center is supervising almost fifteen ongoing pregnancies, with the birth of the triplets marking a particularly joyous event.
Dr. Otabor attributed the hospital's success to its investment in cutting-edge equipment and devoted personnel. "Achieving excellence in performance is contingent upon excellence in education and diligence,"he emphasized, underscoring the hospital's steadfast commitment to quality. In addition to IVF procedures, the hospital also conducts complex surgeries such as hip replacements and spinal surgeries, demonstrating its extensive medical capabilities.
To commemorate the birth of the triplets, Alliance Hospital presented the family with walkers, among other gifts, and introduced a scholarship initiative. Each child will receive ₦100,000 annually for primary and secondary education, and ₦300,000 annually for university education. "While we may not sponsor their education at prestigious institutions like Harvard, this financial assistance will significantly alleviate their educational costs,"Otabor expounded.
Similarly, the Honorable Guest of Honor, Esteemed President Ahmed Isah, who was represented by his Personal Assistant, Barrister Pamella Pius, remarked, "This development will bring happiness to numerous households that have grappled with infertility for years.""Today, we celebrate the initial IVF babies born at Alliance Hospital.
