All Hail The UGO Egbema!! Stanley Nwabali
The traditional ruler of Mgbede community in Egbema Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Nzeobi Evaristus Amuda, has conferred on Stanley Nwabali, the title – Ugo Egbema ” The Pride of Egbema Kingdom” following his sterling performance at the just concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Nzeobi Evaristus Amuda, who is also the chairman Onelga council of chiefs, said the title conferred on Nwabali is in recognition of the honour the goalkeeper has brought to Egbema Kingdom and ONELGA following his performance for the Super Eagles.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local government area, Hon. Vincent Job has given a thumbs up to the Chippa United of South Africa shot stopper for doing the local government area, state and nation proud at the just concluded AFCON.
The ONELGA council boss also announced a ₦5m reward to Nwabali fondly called Bobo for his heroic performance.
He further named a street after him and urged youths in the area to emulate Nwabali’s rise to podium performance.
Nwabali attributed his success story to the Proprietor of Go Round FC, Bro. Felix Obuah, Mbanabaragu 1 of Orashi kingdom.
He said, if Bro. Felix Obuah had not founded Go Round FC decades ago, he would not have attained his present height in the round leather game.
He prayed God to continue to protect and preserve Felix Obuah so that he can do more for the youths of the area and Nigeria at large.
Recall that the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday, announced a N20 million cash reward for Nwabali and also bestowed him with the honour of Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS).
The heroics of Nwabali also earned him the National Awards of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) by President Bola Tinubu during the presidential reception for Super Eagles at the State House, Abuja on Tuesday.
