The All Federal Capital Territory Sports Association (AFSA) has strengthened its drive toward advancing sports development in Abuja and across Nigeria with the appointment of Prince Author Eze as its Grand Patron. The announcement marks a major milestone for the association, which oversees more than 45 sporting bodies under its umbrella.

 

The appointment ceremony, held in Abuja, featured the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Prince Eze in recognition of his longstanding commitment to sports development and philanthropy.

 

Speaking at the event, HRM Eze Sir Ifeanyi Eke, President of AFSA, described the appointment as a significant boost to the association’s mission.

“We are honored to have Prince Author Eze join us as Grand Patron,” he said. “His commitment to sports development is well-known, and we are confident that his patronage will open new doors for AFSA.”

 

In his acceptance speech, Prince Eze pledged unwavering support for the organization’s goals.

“I am honored to accept this role as Grand Patron of AFSA,” he stated. “I promise to work closely with the leadership and members of AFSA to drive sports development and promote excellence in sports.”

 

AFSA’s Director General, Mr. Agbor Clinton, expressed deep appreciation to Prince Eze for accepting the role.

“We are thrilled to have Prince Author Eze on board,” he said. “His dedication to improving sports in Nigeria is widely recognized, and we believe this partnership will elevate AFSA’s work to even greater heights.”

 

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Rt. Hon. Former Speaker Dogara Yakubu, commended the leadership of AFSA for what he described as a “visionary step” in positioning the association for national impact.

“AFSA has made a significant move in the development of sports in Abuja and Nigeria at large,” he said. “The appointment of Prince Author Eze as Grand Patron is a testament to the organization’s commitment to excellence.”
