Athletics Federation of Nigeria ,AFN has fixed this year’s national trials for July 22 to 27,2019 at Ahmadu Bello Stadium ,Kaduna ahead of forthcoming all African games in Morocco and IAAF world Championship in Doha, Qatar
In a press release which was made available to exclusivenews.com.ng,the board rose from their meeting held in Abuja amd promised to work with relevant stakeholders towards ensuring Nigeria’s successful participation at competitions while pledging its commitment to grassroots development of athletes
The board also agreed to hold their congress in Kaduna during the national trials.
Meanwhile the technical director of AFN, Sunday Adeleye presented a list of 91 athletes in preparation for the all African games in Morocco which was deliberated upon by the board before eventual submission to Federation of Elites Athletes Department,FEAD of ministry of youth and sports.
The President of the federation Ibrahim Shehu Gusau who also doubles as the vice president of CAA and President Region 2 of CAA presided over the meeting and called for unity to move athletics forward
