Actor Uwaezuoke: Marrying Less Than Three Wives Is a Sin
Nollywood veteran Stephen Alajemba, popularly known as Uwaezuoke, has sparked controversy by claiming that it is sinful for a man to marry fewer than three wives. Speaking in an interview with Ugwumba TV, the actor argued that having one or two wives exposes men to the risk of poisoning by their spouses.
“It’s a sin to marry one or two wives. But if you marry three or four, you will be free from sin,” he said. “If you marry one wife, your life is at risk. The safety of the director is in the hands of the security. If you marry two wives, they will conspire to poison you. But if you marry three or more, they will all be on their own, and you will only be providing for them. You will be taking turns with their meals and bedrooms.”
This bold statement has drawn attention to the actor, who also revealed earlier this year that he faced rejection during his youth due to his appearance. In an interview with Yan Kontent Factory, Uwaezuoke recounted how people refused to carry him as a baby, calling him unattractive.
Determined to make his mother proud despite the ridicule, Uwaezuoke said he endured women “running away” from him until he met his first love at the age of 20, marrying her three years later.
