One 36-year-old man wey him name na Ernest Odo don land for Wuse Chief Magistrates’ Court for Abuja as dem accuse am say he scam one woman, Adoghe Favour, collect ₦19.5 million under fake promise say he go help her and her three siblings get U.S. visa and work permit.

 

According to wetin prosecution counsel, Edwin Inegbenoise, yarn:

• Odo package himself as travel agent for 2024

• Collect heavy money from the woman say he go run travel documents, work & residence permit for U.S.

• But instead of deliver, the guy disappear with the money

• When the woman ask for her money back, he threaten her 

Odo face three big charges under Penal Code:

1. Criminal breach of trust – Section 309

2. Cheating – Section 312

3. Misappropriation – Section 320

• Odo talk say he no do am, plead not guilty

• Him lawyer, Ofem Obeten, beg court make dem give am bail with soft condition

• But the EFCC lawyer say no gree, say Odo don try run comot from Naija before dem catch am — and e fit run again

Magistrate Umar Dodo come grant bail but with gbas gbos conditions:

• Odo must bring ₦9.2 million bail money

• Provide two sureties wey:

• Dey live inside Abuja court area

• Get correct job (government or private work)

• Show valid ID card

• Swear say dem get money 

Make everybody shine eye well-well before dem give money to anybody wey call himself travel agent.

 

No be everybody wey wear suit sabi run visa — some na clean-faced scammers. Always verify person background before you chook money for travel wahala.
