Professor Victor Madubuko, Chairman of Anambra Beach Association has revealed that the association will embark on sensitization programme in schools to spread the gospel of the sport in the state.

Madubuko exclusively spoke to Exclusivenews.com.ng Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Anglican Girls Grammer School, Nnewi, moments after Beach Soccer made its thrilling debute in the state.

Two games were played on the bright, sunny afternoon at the improvised Beach on the school's pitch. It turned out a 'rain of goals' in both games which saw Moniepoint Beach Soccer team beat Moonshine Beach Soccer team 5-3 over the three quarters of the enthralling contest in the men's clash.

Thereafter, GP World posted a commanding performance to humble Overcomers Beach Soccer team 7-2 in the women's exhibition game.

After enjoying the two games in company of his board members and friends, Professor Madubuko could not hide his excitement with the quality of performance put on show by the players and eventual outcome of the two 'classic' games.

"I'm very excited, especially seeing the first female beach soccer team in Nigeria play", starts Madubuko in a matter of frank tone.

"It's really a thrilling game and I must say it's plus for Anambra State and I'm very happy with the players performance and the outcome of the games".

Twenty-four hours earlier, precisely on Friday, 25th August, 2023, the Board of Anambra State Beach Soccer Association was officially inaugurated with the state FA Chairman, Chikelue 'General' Iloenyosi in attendance.

And the Association boss, Professor Madubuko, reckons they are set to hit the ground running, first with exhibition games and next, sensitization campaigns in a bid to spread the gospel of the sport.

"Now, we're going to start with the grassroots sensitization in the high schools and also the primary schools so that we can select teams that will go the national competitions and win glory for Anambra State", Professor Madubuko emphasised.
