Abia Warriors technical adviser, Imama Amapakabo, says he's happy with the goals contributions of the club's duo of Sunday Megwo and Anthony Ijoma, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The two strikers have jointly scored 23 goals for the club this season with six assists as Abia Warriors place third in the NPFL table with 56 points, pushing strongly for a first CAF Confederation Cup ticket.

"I'm excited. I'm happy that I've two players that are capable of giving us goals now. 

"Between both of them, I think they've about 23 goals and about five or six assists. It's wonderful when you have  two strikers going neck-to-neck, supporting each other. I hope they would continue to deliver the goals till the end of the season. 

"They've been fantastic, they've been wonderful and I think we're keeping faith with them", Amapakabo said.

Only three games stand between Abia Warriors and their first continental ticket ambition and Amapakabo analyses how the last three games could shape his team's ambition.

"First of all, we'll play against Niger Tornadoes. It's a game we need to get result from. We need to get that result, then we come back and think about our game against El-Kanemi Warriors. 

"If we're able to get both result, I think the last game against Ikorodu City will just be academic. But this is football, anything can happen. We're looking at games they have to play.

"They have to play Remo Stars as their away game. They are going to play at home now while we travel for away game. But I think the most important thing is for us to take one game at a time and believe that we get our desired result".

The former Rangers coach who also coached in Rwanda before joining Abia Warriors this season reiterated his confidence that the club can make it to the continent.

"We started the season, trying to get to where we're right now. Three games to go, like I always say, we'll keep on working and believing that we'll get the result. 

"Our expectations and view, we hope that we could be able to keep our heads on our shoulders and run to the finish line to get to our destination".
