Players of Abia Warriors have begun returning to camp as the club kicks off preparations for its historic debut in continental football.

 

The Umuahia-based team secured qualification for the 2025 CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in the just-concluded 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season — their highest-ever league finish.

 

With excitement building ahead of their maiden continental outing, the club has announced that both players and technical officials will begin the first phase of training this week to ensure optimal readiness.

 

Though the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not yet released the preliminary draw for the competition, the team is wasting no time in gearing up for what is expected to be a challenging but historic campaign.

 

Abia Warriors will represent Nigeria alongside other top NPFL sides in the CAF inter-club competitions later this year.
