Abia Comets Confirm Israel Emmanuel Has Gone AWOL, Warn Against Double Registration

Abia Comets FC has officially announced that their player, Israel Emmanuel, has gone AWOL (Absent Without Leave) since Monday, December 31, 2024. The club has called on football stakeholders and the general public to avoid any unauthorized dealings with the player.

In a statement released by the club, it was confirmed that Emmanuel is still under a valid contract with Abia Comets FC, which remains in effect until the end of the 2024/2025 season. The player, registered with the licence number “NNL/2024/25/023” and wearing jersey number 40, has participated in the first three fixtures of the ongoing NNL season.

The club emphasized that all his financial entitlements have been fully settled to date.

Abia Comets disclosed that they are working closely with security agencies to locate the player, launching a manhunt to ensure his safe return. In the meantime, the club has issued a stern warning to football clubs, intermediaries, and other stakeholders not to engage in any football-related business with Emmanuel, as this would constitute double registration, which carries severe consequences under football regulations.

The club reiterated their determination to resolve the matter and safeguard the integrity of their operations while continuing their search efforts.
