Aba Agog As New Club, City Stars Football Club, Is Born, Unveiled, Join To NLO Rank

In its quest to reviving grassroot football in the commercial city Aba, City Stars football club of Aba have been unveiled to the public, with the hope of competing at the highest level in the nearest future.
Chibuzor Nwogu, club's Consultant, spoke during the unveiling ceremony of the new born 'baby' in Aba, said the club has been positioned to develop the numerous talents in Aba and its environs, as they will also be playing in the Nation wide League One, NLO, next season after securing a slot.
Recall that Nwogu was a former Secretary of Enyimba FC.
“Today, we are unveiling City Stars Football club Aba, as we are very determined to change the narratives of grassroot football on the commercial city of Aba, with the potential of producing quality footballers for the state, country and world at large.
"We have put together experienced people in every department of the club and we assure Nigerians that in the nearest future, we will be the focal point for selecting footballers for the national teams.
"We will be competing in the Nigerian Nation wide league (NLO) for next season, as this shows that we have a target of also getting promotion to the NNL and also the NPFL”.
Nwogu said the South East region and Aba in particular is blessed with abundance of talented athletes and called for the support of individuals, government and coporate organizations to help promote the talents.
“Aba is a blessed city, with lots of talented persons in the area of sports, the city have over the years been producing footballers for the country, that’s why City Stars Football club is domiciled in Aba, which gives us the opportunity of catching them young, as these players also would need the support of the government and individuals to encourage them by providing the needed facilities for optimum productivity”.
City Stars Football Club Aba, hold their training sessions at the Wilcox schools, Ogbor Hill Aba, (Tuesdays to Saturdays) with players between the ages of 15-20.
Nwogu would go on to reveal the management team of the club.
