The conducive atmosphere for football development in Anambra State has continued to yield fruits with the latest emergence of a new club that will campaign in the Nationwide League One, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

This follows the successful buy-over of the NLO slot of Likeminds Feeders FC, Abuja, by an illustrious son of Oba, Nze Onochie Nwadinso Ejibendu (Nze Akudinaobi 1 of Umuafalangidi) in a bold bid to return football activities to the Oba Kingdom that had in the past been center for top Nigeria and African Football showpiece.

Exclusivenews.com.ng checks reveal that the young club boss is primed to give back to the society and further present a platform for youths to horn their careers and earn a decent living from the game.

"I played football and since I couldn't reach the peak of my career, I felt its important I create the platform for youths to develop their talents and grow in the game for themselves and their families as well as the society", Nze Onichie Nwadinso Ejibendu quipped.

"Besides, Oba used to be center for top football actions with Jasper United and Udoji United attracting Nigeria Premier League and CAF Champions League football to Oba at Rojenny Stadium, here in Oba.

"Gabros International also played their League matches too, before relocating to Nnewi. Recently, Nnewi United camped and played their NNL home games here at Rojenny Stadium, Oba, before relocating to Awka.

"We want to fill that void. Oba is home for football and we are determined to keep the flames aglow", the young club boss explained.

Named St Nwadinso Football Academy, the new club will run in line with professional footbal academy standards. They will also play competitive (NLO) matches.

Obinna Achebe is the technical head as they intensify screening exercise at the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, preparatory to the 2024 NLO campaign.
