
The minister of youth and Sports development,Sunday Dare has charged the over 3,600 athletes participating at this year’s national youth games in 34 sports to compete clean
Sunday dare who was represented at the opening ceremony by director of grassroots sports,Dr Ademola Are said the ministry sees the youth games as a driving force to achieve millennium development goals and stem the tide of youth restiveness in all the nooks and crannies of the country as well as create career path ways for our youth

He however urged the youth to see their role in this game as a stepping stone to greater heights bearing in mind that there is Joy in participation and sportsmanship, therefore do your best in your respective areas, by competing clean ,without the use of of prohibited substance as stipulated by anti doping agency.
Meanwhile Delta state has shown sign of intent and desire to retain the trophy with 380 athletes making them the state highest contigent while Anambra comes 218,Edo 216,Bayelsa 172 and Akwa ibom 168
