27-Year-Old Man Rescued Alive After 3-Storey Building Collapse in Abuja

One 27-year-old man, Aliyu Salisu, don survive serious building collapse wey happen for Lifecamp area of Abuja on Saturday evening, August 2.

 

Salisu, wey be citizen of Niger Republic, remain trapped under the rubble for almost 10 hours before emergency teams pull am out alive around 4am on Sunday, August 3.

 

Spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Josephine Adeh, confirm the incident on Sunday. She talk say rescue efforts begin shortly after a distress call enter around 6:15pm.

 

According to her, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Lifecamp quickly lead a joint rescue team go the scene. The area was immediately cordoned off, and search-and-rescue operations begin sharply with help from:

• National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)

• FCT Development Control Department

• Zeberced Construction Company

• Julius Berger Nigeria Plc

 

“At about 4am on 3rd August 2025, rescue teams successfully bring out one Aliyu Salisu, 27 years old, from the rubble. Dem rush am go Cedar Crest Hospital, Gudu for treatment. He dey respond well to treatment,” Adeh talk.

 

FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, wey visit the site to supervise the rescue, praise the quick action of all emergency responders and volunteers.
