Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary Golf Championship is just around the corner, and the prestigious IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja is gearing up to host a thrilling week-long event. Dr. James Agbonhese, Vice Captain and Chairman of the Committee, revealed the exciting program of events to journalists at the Clubhouse.
*Tournament Schedule:*
- _Wednesday:_ Staff and Caddies competition
- _Thursday:_ Past Captains and Past Lady Captains kitty tournament, featuring Afro Juju maestro Shina Peters
- _Friday:_ Category three tournament for Ladies handicap 28 and above and Men handicap 19 and above, Veterans and Super Veterans
- _Saturday:_ Category two tournament for Ladies handicap 11 to 27 and Men handicap 11 to 18
- _Sunday:_ Double matchplay between IBB players and visiting golfers from Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon, and Rwanda
- _Monday:_ Single matchplay between host and visiting countries
- _October 1st:_ Grand finale with ceremonial tee-off and party
The event aims to celebrate Nigeria's unity in diversity and showcase the country's prospects.
