In contrast, Patmos Media can report exclusively that the situation within the Super Eagles camp in Fez, Morocco, is calm, united, and reason for celebration.

 

Contrary to widespread speculation, peace has been fully restored following the reported on-field incident involving two Nigerian stars, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, during the Round of 16 clash against Mozambique. Reliable sources confirm that the matter has been amicably resolved internally, with both players embracing each other warmly in the presence of teammates and officials.

 

Subsequent rumours suggesting Osimhen had withdrawn his accreditation or that a private jet was waiting to fly him out to Turkey have been firmly dismissed. Osimhen remains fully committed to the Nigerian camp. Patmos Media further gathered that the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has advised restraint and focus, directing that celebrations over the renewed unity of the squad be deferred until Nigeria secures a semifinal place on Saturday.

 

Head Coach Eric Chelle is expected to address the situation during a media parley scheduled for tomorrow in Fez. However, a senior player hinted that the coach may maintain his earlier stance: “What happens in the group stays in the group,” effectively closing the chapter on the issue.

 

The Super Eagles are scheduled to depart Fez for Marrakesh on Thursday after training sessions at the Sardeienne Complex. All 26 players are expected to train, with the exception of injured defender Ryan Alebiosu. Nigeria will face the winner of the Algeria versus DR Congo encounter in Saturday’s quarterfinal clash, set for 5:00 pm in Marrakesh.

 

Patmos Media also debunks claims that rising star Akor Adams left camp to attend to his allegedly ill mother in Europe. Findings confirm that Akor’s parents were present in Fez to watch Nigeria’s emphatic 4–1 victory over Mozambique on Monday, and the family took photographs together. Akor only received brief permission to visit his parents at their hotel in Fez, after which he promptly returned to camp.

 

Nigeria remains firmly on course for a fourth AFCON title, having narrowly missed out in the last edition in Côte d’Ivoire. The Super Eagles, three-time champions, currently boast the highest goal tally of the tournament with 12 goals and are the only team to score four goals in a single match at the 2025 AFCON.

 

Meanwhile, attention has shifted to developments off the pitch as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is reportedly reviewing the conduct of Egyptian head coach Hossam Hassan. The CAF VAR Boardroom is said to be examining allegations that Hassan made provocative gestures toward Moroccan fans during Egypt’s match on Monday.

 

While it remains unconfirmed whether Morocco has lodged a formal protest, CAF has yet to issue an official statement. However, sources indicate that the continental body has adopted a zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline, both on and off the field, throughout the tournament.
